Our Customer Consultation is more than a quick look at your car and a hasty estimate. It is a collaborative process designed to identify the scope of damages from a loss, as well as understand your needs and expectations, and lay the groundwork for a successful repair. Customer Consultations have two main parts:
1) Detailed Walkaround
We start with a detailed walkaround of your vehicle, preferably with you present. During this step, your estimator will not only be reviewing the details of the accident and primary damage areas, but also gathering a complete picture of your vehicle's condition, and any concerns you may have about the vehicle or the process. During this step, we document:
- Specific damage from the incident
- Any pre-existing damage
- Any drivability or functionality issues
- Aftermarket parts or modifications
- Your initial concerns or questions
This thorough approach ensures that we have a clear, agreed-upon starting point for the repair. It's an opportunity for you to point out any specific issues or concerns, and for us to get a full understanding of your vehicle's condition.
2) In-Depth Discussion
After the initial walkaround, your estimator will take the vehicle into the shop to prepare a visual repair estimate. This step can take anywhere from 30-45+ minutes, depending on how extensive the damages are, whether the vehicle needs to be washed due to snow or dirt, and other factors. We then meet with you again to discuss:
- Our preliminary repair plan
- Potential hidden damages, to be addressed after disassembly.
- Scheduling of repair dates, and estimated timeframe for completion.
- Rental car arrangements
- Potential parts availability issues
- Customer pay work or special requests
- Any questions you may have
This second discussion allows us to provide you with a more detailed explanation of items on your estimate, as well as why they need to be performed. It's your opportunity to ask questions, voice any additional concerns, and fully understand the repair process ahead.
